Question:  I'm wondering if I can change the interval for sending out a digest for my mailing list(s). I understand that the interval is 48 hours or some number of messages or kilobytes. It's too long for my purposes, and would like to shorten it to something like 12 hours.  Also can you modify the number of message and/or kilobytes?

Answer:  You can quite simply modify the digest interval.

Simply create a file named "digtime" in the list directory (ie /big/dom/XDOM/USERNAME/LISTNAME/digtime) and put in it the number of hours you want digests to collect before sending. In this case, that would be "12" (without quotes). The Default is 48

You can also modify the kilobytes and number of messages that trigger the digest interval:

kilobytes would be modified by adding a digsize file:

/big/dom/XDOM/USERNAME/LISTNAME/digsize  and put in it the number of kilobytes you want digests to collect before sending. Default is 64

Number of messages would be modified by adding a digcount directory

/big/dom/XDOM/USERNAME/LISTNAME/digcount  and put in it the number of messages you want digests to collect before sending.  Default is 30
