PHP extensions and index file?
Posted on 28 January 2004 09:14 AM
Question:

Can you add .php in your apache httpd.conf file to work as well as .php3? Can you also add index.php as a default name for a document? We have a forum package that needs this in order to function correctly.

Answer:

The extension ".php" is configured in the server core to be parsed for PHP, as well as the ".php3", ".php4", & ".php5" extensions. Also note that index files can be index.php, index.php3, index.php4, index.php5.

Click here for more detailed information concerning index file extensions that are already pre-configured to work on the FutureQuest® servers.

Note that you may specify either of these, or others, yourself via an .htaccess override - see http://www.apache.org/docs/ for details.
